PFC lists Euro green bonds on Luxembourg Stock Exchange

Power Finance Corporation (PFC), a leading NBFC in the power sector, on Wednesday listed its maiden 300-million-euro, 1.841-per cent Euro green bonds on Luxembourg Stock Exchange, which is the largest green bond listing platform. The listing had been done under a cooperation agreement signed between India INX and Luxembourg Stock Exchange, which encompasses areas of mutual interest in green bonds and the environmental, social and governance (ESG) segment, a media release from PFC said on Wednesday.

PFC Chairman and Managing Director R S Dhillon rang the bell at the listing ceremony held in GIFT IFSC Gujarat on Wednesday for PFC’s dual listed Euro bonds on Luxembourg Stock Exchange. The listing ceremony was attended by International Financial Services Centres Authority (FSCA) Chairman Injeti Srinivas, Peggy Frantzen, the ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Arnauld Delestienne, the director of International Capital Market and member of the executive committee of Luxembourg Stock Exchange, V Balasubramaniam, the managing director and CEO, of India INX, in addition to other senior executives from IFSCA, PFC, India INX and Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

PFC had issued its maiden 300-million-euro, 1.841 per cent Euro green bonds in September 2021, through which PFC had forayed into the European markets for the first time. The listing on the prestigious Luxembourg Stock Exchange will give PFC a further opportunity to enhance its visibility among European investors and ease access to European markets for future issuances.

During the ceremony, Mr Dhillon said: “This listing on Luxembourg Stock Exchange would aid PFC in strengthening its presence in the European continent and help facilitate future financing to meet the green energy goals set out by the Government of India.”
